Je ne sais pas trop comment faire place nette de mes anciennes installations aussi; je ne sais plus qu'est-ce qui a été écrit et dans quels répertoires. Mais je vais essayer de suivre ce tuto (que j'avais déjà lu mais qui me dépasse...).

Je n'ai toujours pas réussi Personne n'aurait d'idée ou de tutorial très très très détaillé à soumettre ? :/

Je suis reparti sur la piste des drivers propriétaires d'ATI; ça ne marchait pas du tout car je n'avais pas les sources de mon kernel d'installées. Donc, après les avoir rajoutées, l'installation du package d'ATI se passe un peu mieux. Par contre, ça ne marche toujours pas Alors maintenant, mon XF86Config-4 est celui généré par ATI, sauf que si je laisse les drivers à "fglrx", ça plante. Du coup, je remet "ati" pour que X se lance (à l'ancienne...). Par contre, et c'est pas cool, dorénavant quand je fais un fglrxinfo (et surement d'autres commandes similaires que j'ai pas testées), ça plante X (retour console plein écran) et ça dit "caught signal 11". Les Radeon 9500 sont quand meme capables d'afficher de la 3D sous Linux, non ? Je confonds peut-être des termes cela dit. Toujours est-il que maintenant, ça plante quand je lance des diagnostics fglrxinfo (peut etre glxinfo ou autre, pas essayé), et de toute façon les drivers ne sont pas installés... Pendant le lancement de X, il m'a dit qu'il était pas capable de se lancer et a marqué quelque part (à peu pres) fglrx : no module found ou fglrx : no driver found, enfin un truc comme ça. Bref. Malheureusement mon install de linux datant d'hier, ca retourne un max de résultats (à peu près tout le disque)

Bon ben je suis bloqué (cf post précédent édité). J'ai essayé de repartir à partir des .deb pour les dpkg -i mais je ne les trouve plus (hahaha...). Snif.

J'avais déjà essayé "find fglrx" mais ça ne donne aucun résultat, alors que bon des fglrx il y en a quand même (ne serait-ce que dans le nom des packages). edit : j'ai essayé un find / | grep fglrx histoire d'être un peu inventif. Ca donne plein de résultats, mais mis à part du fait que j'arrive pu à distinguer les "nouveaux" fichiers de ceux qui sont apparus lors de mes précédentes tentatives d'installation, je ne trouve pas répertoire contenant un quelconque make.sh.

Mon explorateur est Nautilus (sous gnome) et je n'y vois pas de fonction rechercher

J'avais déjà installé fglrx-kernel-src tout à l'heure (réessayer de l'installer dit qu'il est déjà là), et dans la liste il y en a 5 oui, mais en fait kernel-src y est 2 fois. Donc il y en a 4 (ou alors 5 mais le gars s'est planté en mettant deux fois le même...). Je suis censé aller dans /usr/src/modules/fglrx pour y taper sh make.sh, mais j'ai pas de répertoires modules dans /usr/src. Y'a pas une commande pour chercher tous les répertoires de nom "fglrx", ou quelque chose qui pourrait dire que ça se trouve ailleurs ? Je veux dire, les paquets ont bien été décompressés quelque part non ?

Bon, j'ai essayé d'interpréter le message d'erreur ou ça "clash", et j'en ai conclu (peut etre à tort) que le dri-trunk-chose que j'ai installé tout à l'heure faisait conflit. Du coup, j'ai tenté un apt-get remove xlibmesa-gl1-dri-trunk et, ô miracle, ça a marché et supprimé le paquet. J'ai donc pu installer fglrx-driver ainsi que fglrx-driver-dev et fglrx-control-qt3 (en tout cas je crois, déjà y'avait pas d'erreur). Bon par contre, l'étape suivante du premier tutorial que tu as donné dit d'aller dans /usr/src/modules/fglrx mais ce répertoire (/usr/src/modules déjà) n'existe pas chez moi...
